What Is Orthognathic Surgery?

Orthognathic surgery is known as healing jaw surgery or jaw surgery. It is designed to correct the conditions of the jaw and face. In some cases, you also have braces on your teeth before and after surgery until healing and alignment are complete.

Braces cannot fix severe jaw damages, or cosmetic correction can be corrected by orthognathic surgery. How much time is required?

Treatment is carried out throughout 2 -3 years to align your teeth with fixed appliances. When the fixed instruments are removed, you will be provided with removable retainers to help maintain your teeth in the new position. Some patients may also require a fastener to fix their teeth.

Our orthodontist will instruct you on how to wear the retainers. In some cases, you will start wearing your retainers all the time in a day. After a year, you will be advised to wear the retainers a few nights a week indefinitely. Your improvement will be analyzed regularly for five years after your surgery.
